Meet Intiaz “Taz” Hussein — The Project Coordinator Bringing Heart, Hustle, and Humanity to Every Job

Some people show up to work simply to do a job. Others show up determined to make a difference.

For Intiaz “Taz” Hussein, Project Coordinator at ARS Responds Canada, that difference is felt every day — by clients navigating stressful property losses, by teammates who know they can count on him, and by the people closest to him: his two sons, Malik and Jayden.

Since joining ARS just over seven months ago, Taz has quickly built a reputation as someone who genuinely cares. Whether he is coordinating emergency response efforts, managing sub-trades, conducting site visits across the GTA, or helping guide a project from initial mitigation through final repairs, Taz brings energy, accountability, and pride to every job he touches.

“I want the work to reflect perfectly on both ARS and my own professional reputation,” says Taz. “There is tremendous pride in the work we do here at ARS.”

That pride shows up in the details.

For Taz, delivering the ARS standard means going above and beyond before the final walkthrough even begins. It means catching the little things before the client ever sees them. It means making sure a family can safely return home or a business can keep their doors open to customers while the restoration work gets done. It means staying one step ahead because every project impacts someone’s life in a very real way.

One recent project especially stands out.

After responding to a water loss in Scarborough, Taz and the ARS team mobilized crews within one hour of receiving the call. The entire job was completed within a week, exceeding the client’s expectations and earning a glowing 5-star review.

“Get the job done right the first time,” Taz says. “Demonstrate to the client that their call was the right call.”

But beyond the technical side of restoration, what motivates Taz most is empathy.

Right now, he’s helping coordinate a project for a resident who had to temporarily leave her home during repairs. Delays in drywall and flooring threatened to extend her displacement, but for Taz, simply accepting delays was never an option.

“I refuse to let us drop the ball and force her to pay extra rent or stay displaced longer,” he says. “Pushing through those complications to get her home on time is what makes me feel great about my job.”

That mindset reflects something bigger about the culture at ARS — a culture Taz says immediately stood out to him when he first joined the company.

“I feel like I belong to a family here,” he says. “Everyone at ARS is always willing to help when I need it. True teamwork really exists here.”

For Taz, teamwork is not just a corporate value on paper. It is something he experiences every day.

“If I have a scheduling conflict and can’t make it to a client meeting, someone steps up to cover for me without hesitation,” he explains. “And I would do the exact same for them. Everyone is on the same page trying to help each other succeed.”

That support system has also helped accelerate Taz’s own professional growth.

Before joining ARS, he viewed restoration and construction differently. Today, after managing complex exterior structural projects, excavation work, drainage systems, ramps, and commercial restoration challenges, he says the role has completely changed the way he thinks professionally.

“My involvement in restoration makes me feel like I’m a construction manager,” he says. “I love learning new things and stepping outside my comfort zone.”

Leadership at ARS has taken notice.

Taz says one of the things that makes ARS unique is the company’s commitment to helping employees grow rather than keeping them stagnant in one position.

“They are actively pushing me to evolve,” he says. “There is a push to grow here at ARS.”

Ask Taz what truly drives him, however, and the answer comes instantly.

His sons.

“Every single day, I want to lead by example for them,” he says. “By going out into the field, tackling these massive projects, and overcoming challenges, I’m showing my boys that absolutely nothing is impossible if you work hard and trust the process.”

It is a mindset that perfectly reflects who Taz is — hardworking, dependable, humble, growth-oriented, and deeply committed to both his family and his team.

As ARS continues to grow across Canada, people like Taz are helping shape what the future of the company looks like: people who lead with pride, care deeply about clients, support their teammates, and show up every day ready to exceed expectations.

And that is exactly what powers ARS.
