Meet Salena Ali. With a long and distinguished career in human resources—including over four years of dedicated service at ARS Responds Canada—Salena embodies the heart, dedication, and values that define our workplace culture. As an HR Generalist supporting both our Canadian and U.S. divisions, her days are packed with variety—ranging from payroll processing and employee benefits to organizing internal initiatives and tackling whatever comes her way next.
While her to-do list is endless, Salena's true passion lies in the human side of HR: listening to team members, offering guidance, and ensuring her office is a welcoming space for everyone—complete with a well-stocked supply of snacks for any employee who stops by!

Staying True to the Mission
When Salena first looked into ARS Responds Canada, the company’s motto—“Product is Our Pride”—immediately resonated with her. She wanted to align herself with an organization that unequivocally stood behind the quality of its work while maintaining a family-first culture.
Over her four-year journey, she has seen firsthand that this mindset extends far beyond a slogan. From encouraging colleagues to take full advantage of beneficial programs like our RRSP plan to offering a supportive listening ear (and a quick treat), Salena consistently goes above and beyond to ensure both management and staff feel valued.
The Heart of Teamwork and Tradition
For Salena, memorable moments at ARS are rooted in personal connections.
When I first started at ARS Responds Canada, one of the many moments that really stood out to me was when Mr. Gagliano, or “Papa G.,” would come into the office every so often for a little visit down the hallway where I worked. We would have a quick conversation, and always end with a hug. Those little moments would truly make my day. It may seem like something small, but it really showed me the family atmosphere at ARS and how much the people and personal connections mean here. It is a memory that has always stayed with me and is something I am grateful to have experienced as part of the ARS family. - Salena Ali
That same sense of togetherness drives her work within the HR department. Collaborating closely alongside Samin (HR Administrator) and Vince, Salena thrives in a fast-paced environment built on trust, shared strengths, and continuous mutual support.
Lessons in Leadership & Advice for New Team Members
Salena attributes her strong work ethic to watching her mother’s hard work and dedication growing up. Though she jokes about having become a bit of a workaholic along the way, her focus remains centered on letting her work speak for itself, taking care of her colleagues, and making a daily positive impact.
Driven by the belief that kindness is contagious, she draws motivation from simple moments—a kind word, a warm thank-you, or knowing she made a teammate's day a little brighter.
When asked what advice she would offer to newcomers joining the ARS family, Salena shares a message of growth and self-belief:
Get your foot in the door and take every opportunity to learn and grow. Don’t be afraid to take on new challenges, think outside the box, and step outside your comfort zone. Never think you are stuck in one role forever. Trust your instincts, believe in yourself, and don’t let anyone hold you back from becoming something greater.- Salena Ali
